Ok..ok...so it's been a while since I posted...to be honest with you folks, several things crept up on me and a certain amount of writer's fatigue set in. This being the first season I've tried to blog about the Thrashers wasn't easy..and it's sure not easy to crank out material on an almost daily basis...and to be honest...the season just wore down on me..along with other commitments around the house and at work. But I'm sneaking off into a corner to pound out a new post and hopefully get my mojo working again.
So...the season is over...disappointed no??...me too. There are things to feel good about, and there are things to look back and say that they are good building blocks, but to sit here and say that you're totally ok with not being in the playoffs would be either a lie...or you're just not much of a Thrasher fan.
I'll be doing several posts over the next few days and weeks about different aspects of the whole off season goings on...including the draft lottery, draft, free agency and the various camps leading up to training camp in September. There is a lot to cover from what moves will the Thrashers make with resigning players (we got 9 going to FA) of course some we won't see again, but some hopefully will be resigned. We've also got a draft and with 2 first round picks it's going to be interesting to see what we can get. Then there's the elephant in the room....is ownership going to do anything about management? Have we seen the last of Don Waddell as GM or John Anderson as coach..or both...or neither?
Before we go into all of that I want to take a few moments to do some recognizing of my own. Being a blogger this season has given me a certain amount of "access" and an ability to meet and socialize with people I would not normally have come across, or to really have an opportunity to connect with them. I would like to give a shout out to some new friends I made during the course of the season and to let them know how much I've enjoyed their company, either in person...or over the intertubes.
